Just around the corner:

Loch Lomond National Park is an excellent base for walking, hill climbing, wild swimming and other outdoor pursuits. However you may prefer to have access to entertainment that needs facilities. Locally here at Kinlochard we have the following:

Forest Hills Spa:

Less than a quarter of a mile away is the Forest Hills Hotel. The hotel, part of the MacDonald’s hotel group has a spa which is open to the general public. A day pass is available and the facilities offered are, a swimming pool, and for the over 16s, a Sauna, Jacuzzi and Steam room. In addition there is a gym with a range of gym equipment and also a snooker table, pool, darts,Badminton, Table Tennis and Tennis Courts.

At busy times in the summer the swimming pool gets very busy and occasionally the management have to restrict entrance for safety reasons.

Generally the facilities are open from 08.00 until 20.00 but the first and last hour are adults only. The MacDonald’s group does have an extensive web site although the entries relating to the Spa are more limited. If you are considering taking out a day pass, have a word, as I may have current advice (discount is a possibility) about the Spa.

Loch Ard Adventures:

Also a quarter of a mile away (and at the entrance to Forest Hills Hotel) on the side of the loch you will find Loch Ard Adventures. This business concentrates on water sports and for a fee you can hire the relevant equipment. Paddle boarding, Kyaking and Canoeing. In addition they hire bikes out for a daily rate and have other land based activities. Gorge walking, Cliff jumping and Archery. There is a web site which has all the contact details.

Go Ape:

Finally just 3.5 miles away in Aberfoyle one of the branches (no pun intended) of Go Ape is available where you can climb up and challenge yourself in the tree canopy or use the zip line. Go Ape has an extensive web site the address of the relevant page is…
